The household expands with the arrival of Claudia, whose diaries offer another perspective upon life with Louis and Lestat. Her enthusiasm initially brings new energy to their home, although being made immortal while still young carries consequences neither of her creators properly considered.

Meanwhile, Daniel’s investigation in Dubai turns towards Armand, the interview conducted in 1973 and the possibility that Louis’s memories have been deliberately altered.

Louis and Claudia travel through war-torn Eastern Europe looking for evidence that other vampires exist. What they find is far removed from the sophisticated immortals they imagined, and growing tension between them makes their journey increasingly lonely.

The pair reach post-war Paris and encounter Armand’s theatrical coven. Claudia is fascinated by the possibility of belonging, while Louis is drawn towards Armand despite recognising that their charming new acquaintances are conducting an interrogation beneath the hospitality.

Armand recounts his earlier encounters with Lestat and the origins of the Théâtre des Vampires. His version provides Louis with new information but also reminds Daniel, and the audience, that vampire history generally arrives with the fingerprints of whoever is currently telling it.

Episode 4: I Want You More Than Anything in the World

Louis’s relationship with Armand deepens, while Claudia grows frustrated with her role at the theatre and the coven’s rigid hierarchy. A new friendship offers her the prospect of being known as an adult rather than treated as the company’s permanently youthful novelty.

Built partly as Built partly as a music documentary, the season explores Lestat’s human childhood, transformation and talent for converting emotional distress into something that requires stage lighting.

Episode 1: Detroit

Lestat reflects upon the publication of Daniel’s book, the creation of his band and the road towards his first major concert. A hostile Detroit coven objects to his growing influence, while glimpses of the future suggest that his music will have consequences extending far beyond record sales.

Episode 2: Toledo

Touring takes Lestat to Toledo as memories return him to his childhood in Auvergne and his complicated bond with his mother. Band tensions and vampire politics grow alongside his popularity, but Lestat continues to treat restraint as a rumour circulated by less interesting people.

Episode 3: Toronto

Daniel finally places Lestat before the cameras and questions him about his youth, his life as a Parisian actor and his first love, Nicolas. In Detroit, Louis deals with unfinished vampire business while Lestat’s carefully staged interview becomes unexpectedly revealing.

Episode 4: The Devil’s Road

A painful departure sends Lestat into another emotional spiral as the tour continues. Louis seeks support from someone familiar, and the stories surrounding Lestat’s family become more complicated than the version he has chosen to present publicly.

Episode 5: New York

The band records its album while Lestat’s songs turn his history into an increasingly public spectacle. Louis makes an important admission, Daniel receives an unsettling gift and the accelerating Great Conversion begins to overshadow the tour.

Episode 6: Montreal
