Decades later, scientists around the world begin to die under mysterious circumstances. In London, a group of top researchers are targeted as reality itself begins to fracture. At the same time, an immersive VR game called The Three-Body Problem is circulating—where players experience a bizarre, unstable world governed by chaotic celestial mechanics.
Turns out, the game is more than a game. It’s contact.
We learn about the San-Ti, an alien species from a planet trapped in a chaotic triple-star system. Their world is unpredictable, brutal, and barely survivable. They’re looking for a new home—and Earth is next.

Its compressed storytelling and uneven character development sometimes reveal the strain of adapting such vast source material, but the scale of its ideas, striking set pieces and steadily deepening sense of cosmic dread make it one of the most compelling science-fiction dramas of recent years.
