Tongayi Arnold Chirisa, born on 8 August 1981 in Harare, Zimbabwe, is a versatile actor and singer with a dynamic presence in both television and film. He received his early education at Lomagundi College and later pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Live Performance at AFDA, The School for the Creative Economy, in South Africa.
Chirisa’s acting career gained momentum with his portrayal of Detective Trevor Davies in the popular Zimbabwean television series Studio 263 from 2002 to 2004. This role established him as a prominent figure in Zimbabwe’s entertainment industry.
In 2008, Chirisa expanded his international presence by starring as Man Friday in the NBC television series Crusoe, an adaptation of Daniel Defoe’s classic novel Robinson Crusoe. His performance showcased his adaptability and talent on a global platform.
Chirisa’s filmography includes notable roles such as Hekule in the South African comedy film Mr. Bones 2: Back from the Past (2008), where he played a central character in this commercially successful sequel.
