Caprica - Synopsis"Caprica," a science fiction TV series and prequel to "Battlestar Galactica," debuted in 2010, created by Ronald D. Moore and Remi Aubuchon. Set 58 years before "Battlestar Galactica," the story unfolds on the technologically advanced world of Caprica, one of the Twelve Colonies of Kobol. It focuses on the intertwined lives of the Graystone and Adama families, pivotal in the creation of the Cylons, sentient robots that later rebel against humans. The Graystone family is led by Dr. Daniel Graystone, a tech genius and head of Graystone Industries. The narrative takes a turn when his daughter Zoe dies in a terrorist attack, and he discovers her virtual avatar in a virtual reality world, V-World. Attempting to resurrect her, Daniel transfers her consciousness into a robotic body, inadvertently creating the first Cylon. Meanwhile, the story also follows Joseph Adama, a lawyer with Tauron mafia connections, grieving the loss of his wife and daughter in the same attack. His journey intertwines with Daniel's and delves into his cultural background, his relationship with his son William (the future Admiral Adama in "Battlestar Galactica"), and his moral struggles. The series delves into several themes, including the ethics of technology, especially regarding artificial intelligence and virtual reality. It explores religious belief and extremism through the monotheistic Soldiers of the One, contrasting with the predominant polytheistic society. Themes of corporate power, corruption, family, loss, and identity are also central to the narrative. Despite critical acclaim for its complex storytelling and thematic depth, "Caprica" struggled with viewership and was canceled after one season. It has since gained a cult following and is valued for its thought-provoking exploration of technology, morality, and its contribution to the "Battlestar Galactica" universe. Caprica Show Details
