Jack Huston

Jack Alexander Huston, born on 7 December 1982 in King’s Lynn, Norfolk, England, is a distinguished British actor and director, hailing from a lineage deeply rooted in the entertainment industry. He is the son of Lady Margot Lavinia Cholmondeley and Tony Huston, and the grandson of renowned filmmaker John Huston. His familial connections extend to his aunt, actress Anjelica Huston, and his uncle, actor Danny Huston.

Huston’s passion for acting ignited at the age of six after portraying the title role in a school production of Peter Pan. He later honed his craft at Hurtwood House, a prestigious drama institute.

In 2004, Huston made his screen debut as Flavius in the television film Spartacus. He subsequently appeared in films such as Factory Girl (2006), portraying poet Gerard Malanga, and the horror film Shrooms (2007). His role as Royce King II in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse (2010) further elevated his profile.

A significant breakthrough in Huston’s career came with his portrayal of Richard Harrow in HBO’s Boardwalk Empire (2010–2013). His compelling depiction of a disfigured World War I veteran turned gangster earned him critical acclaim and a dedicated following.

In 2013, Huston featured as Pete Musane in David O. Russell’s acclaimed film American Hustle. He continued to diversify his roles, playing Ira Levinson in the romantic drama The Longest Ride (2015) and embodying the titular character in the historical epic Ben-Hur (2016).

Huston’s versatility extended to the stage, where he portrayed Charles Bruno in a 2013 production of Strangers on a Train at London’s Gielgud Theatre. In 2019, he took on the role of Robert F. Kennedy in Martin Scorsese’s The Irishman, further showcasing his range as an actor.

In 2020, Huston appeared as Odis Weff, a corrupt Kansas City police detective with severe OCD, in the fourth season of the FX anthology series Fargo. He continued to explore complex characters, portraying Lasher in the supernatural television series Mayfair Witches (2023), based on Anne Rice’s “Lives of the Mayfair Witches” trilogy.

Expanding his repertoire, Huston made his directorial debut with Day of the Fight (2023), starring Michael Pitt as a once-renowned boxer facing personal challenges. The film premiered out of competition in the Orizzonti Extra section of the 80th Venice International Film Festival.

In his personal life, Huston began a relationship with American model Shannan Click in 2011. The couple has two children: a daughter born in 2013 and a son born in 2016. They married in Las Vegas in March 2022.
